IGI Origins, a prequel to the Project IGI series, is being developed by Anti-Matter Games to celebrate the holiday season. Several in-game stages from the pre-alpha version of the game are shown in the new video, including some exclusive gameplay footage.
The prequel to Project I.G.I, the renowned tactical first-person shooter game from 2000, has been under development by Anti-Matter Games for a while. The game was initially debuted by Toadman Interactive as a project, but Antimatter Games eventually took over as the primary developer. IGI Origins has no official release date as of yet, however, a few reports indicate that it will happen in 2023. Although the game has been in development for three years, it is still in the pre-alpha stage, so we can't anticipate its release any time soon.
IGI Origins New Teaser Released by Anti-Matter Games
The distinctive and recognizable elements of the original Project IGI game are meticulously preserved by Antimatter Games. In September 2022, Antimatter Games released the first gameplay trailer for IGI Origins. It showed some combat takedown maneuvers and the occasional camera switches to the third person, which brought back memories of the original Project IGI gameplay. However, the game's gunplay has significantly improved, making it feel more like a contemporary shooter.
The most recent installment of the I.G.I. series wasn't issued for almost 20 years. I.G.I. Origins seem to be the game that will live up to fans' anticipation for the comeback of the stealth FPS brand with the release of I.G.I.-2: Covert Strike. Although the two-minute preview doesn't reveal anything new, the new game will be fantastic and keep the Project IGI gameplay experience. The fans' fervent support and enthusiastic response to the game's gameplay footage were acknowledged by the developers as well.
More gameplay video from daytime missions is included in the newest clip. This new trailer provides more information about the gunplay and highlights the developer's great use of lighting and reflections.
It's important to note that the teaser only features pre-alpha content, which means that many details are likely to change before the game is released. Additionally, the pre-alpha version of the game caused some of the video's severe frame dips, which won't be present in the finished product.
I.G.I Origins will launch on devices like the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S releases of the game have not been officially announced by developer Anti-Matter Games. The likelihood that the game will function on next-generation consoles is higher, though. Additionally, PC requirements or specs have not yet been disclosed.
